After a month long haul on a pair of Jaywalker socks, I needed some "wam bam thankyou mam" kinda knitting .....

The Phydeaux twist cowl, I fell in love with this cool mama's version and immediately had to cast on! Done in 3 hours;)

Love it!!

This week has been busy, therefore I needed another super quick super bulky knit idea, my sista friend knit this up and gave me the inspiration. I love it, it's called Autumn and is a pattern from the talented Jane Richmond.

Warm heads rule!!!

A few recent thrifting scores and a few gifts from my thrifting vintage loving mama!

I've been meaning to make up a batch of eco playdough for some time now. Since we all have the sniffles and it's crazy hot out today we dove right in. I follow the recipe above to a tee. I took it off the heat to early the first time and had to stir till I could barely move the dough in the pan.It was quick and easy....and the smell of cooking play dough brought back many good childhood memories!!

I didn't want to use the conventional dye so this is what I came up with:

Raspberries for pink.

rasp

Turmeric for gold.

tum

Chlorella for green.

After lots of kneading, this is what we got!!!

They loved it! And I got an hour of house cleaning done while they molded and created lots of interesting things:)

While sitting around on one of the many rainy days we had in June here in CO...I remembered a post on the Crafty Crow about re purposing egg cartons into little quirky creatures.
