As we sat around the table new years morning eating breakfast and drinking a cup of joe our family threw around ideas on what we could do to make that one small change. We are pretty good about being eco conscious and have naturally adopted alot of great little things into our fanily to be kind to the earth. So we came to the conclusion that lowering out thermostat was a great way to conserve energy and save a few $$ on our x-cel bill every month....you can go even further and opt to pay part of your bill will Colorados Wind Source energy program through X-cel Energy.

Our friend Rusty had been over recently and gave us a thourogh run through on how to program our thermostat. So it's now set to 65 at night (I know could be lower but our duplex has terrible drafts and upstairs is 10 degrees colder at night) and 67 during the day. I also make sure to open up all our east facing drapes and let that warm sun heat us up!

A few other things we have add to help besides a few more layers on our bodys for warmth and blankets at night are, door snakes for the cold CO drafts and hot water bottles work wonders slipped into your bed 10 minutes before you do.

Head on over to Hip Mountain Mama's blog to sign up for One Small Change and make a difference on a scale you can imagine to make a difference!

Just finished sewing these cute little vintage buttons onto my new pair of Convertible "flip top mittens by, Emmy Lou Halmuth. I love the pattern, easy but engaging and super quick; I busted these out in 2 days or so. The last huge dump of snow was a strong motivation to get them done and on my cold hands!

So cozy and functional!!

Today's WIP is Jane by, Jane Richmond. On Sunday our family made a dinner trip and went down to Fancy Tiger in Denver so I could acquire some new alpaca yarn for this winter toque:) I love the yarn and am tweaking the pattern a bit for the weight so I'll keep you updated as to how it all unfolds. Tonight is Knit night here in Louisville (every Wednesday from 5-9pm) so I should get a good amount knit up tonight, I LOVE knit night!!

What is your current WIP?

I joined the Vintage Swap 2009 a few weeks back. It truly is an amazing collaboration of crafty mama's. The things I've seen and the blogs I've gotten to "know" will forever change the way I look at crafting and vintage thrifting forever:)

Everyday I check in and see as more and more people post there treasures and how inspiring this swap has been for them.

Plus meeting a bunch of new mama's via there blogs and getting to know other's better through our love of vintage has been absolutely perfect!! I love having web-havens to go to and relate with as I travel down my mothering road....

These magnificent vintage treasures are going to my swap partner Stacey:)

Pure Vintage Awesomeness!!!

On another note, run and check out Gardenmama's giveaway. You still have a few to post a comment and be entered for her giveaway!!

Drum roll.....This week will start off with my sister:) She plays the guitar and sing so beautifully. I love that she has had the opportunity and has taken it to have a couple songs recorded professionally.
